In the past ten years or so Chris has worked almost exclusively with high chroma colour on either white or plain gesso grounds - but a recent request saw him taking out the Pantone swatches to match some more subtle colours and textures. The required ground was easy - it was Dulux ‘Raku’, a kind of warm mid-grey. Using this has opened up a whole different approach.. as well as some new recapitulations.
