Ro Murray
The Girls with the Crocodile
.
Lino print 72x50cm, 200cm, 2006-2025
three framed works from a series, with a current frieze on a pianola roll, This series is from my archives and was made from a sketch of a carving I saw at Angkor Watt, cycling as a fundraiser for Oxfam in 2005, and printed on Lucy Culliton’s press in Kanimbla Valley.
I could think of them as representing “my coming out” in 1988 when I realised, I was gay, after being married for 12 years with three children, dancing topless at women’s party.
