Ira Ferris is a Zagreb-born, Eora-based interdisciplinary artist with a foundation in contemporary dance and an ongoing practice in Bodyweather. Concerned with the environmental consequences of speed and non-stop production, she makes works that insert a gentler pace into busy social environments. Her practice involves movement, text, video-art, sound-collage, and conversation. She performs in galleries and site-specifically, and is interested in improvisation as a process of quiet presence and deep listening.
