In various cultural and philosophical traditions, “five elements” refers to a concept where the world and its processes are explained through five fundamental substances or principles: earth, water, fire, air, and often a ether or space. Found materials that make up this work started with the number ‘5’.
Improvisation, play and harnessing my authentic raw energy are key elements in my organic approach to making art. My work explores the person, the self and my identity, providing a mystical contentedness and engagement. I work in a comfortable chaos with found materials that speak to me in their endless possibilities for creativity. I create multiple works simultaneously in a prolific and generous manner.
