Marks and line, dashes and dots are ways that the landscapes has been depicted on maps, and through these thematic and topographical maps one can follow diverging and converging threads of design, artistic and technical thought and the effects of colonialism.
My beginning is with a map of Stuart town, central west NSW and the areas where the gold mining flourished and fettered the land to where the watercourses intersect with marks of walking tracks, railway tracks, boundary lines showing contours and hachures weaving a thread around the circle, symbolically representing the sacred space, the yin and yang.
