Hand molded polymethyl methacrylate, 26 x 30 x 4cm. 2024
Red is the most brilliant colour on the spectrum and is often associated with body, energy and power. I choose red in my practice as it merges with the material resulting in a viscous visual feast. I
I am Australian born Sydney based artist.I make my work in an industrial factory where I access the material and furnaces and have been practicing in this method since 2015. Using large sheets of industrial Perspex, my intention is to disguise the nature of the material by creating fluid folds and swirls that are associated with body, fabric and movement. With a limited working time on the forms while the material is pliable, the self-imposed challenge for me is not to leave any trace of the hand in the finished work. I have exhibited in Milan, New York and Paris this year
