Lila Afiouni

This work is from a solo exhibition titled ‘Interactions’ held at Factory 49 in 2013. The painting explores elements of shape, colour, form, composition, balance, harmony and movement. The exhibition was inspired by Josef Albers’ book ‘Interaction of Colour’ published in 1963. My ongoing interest in colour and its relationship to composition continues in my practice. This particular work titled ‘Rotation and Motion’ sums up a series of work that was predominantly circular before moving on to angular shaped works a few years later.
