Richard van der Aa
Lives and works in Paris, France.
Born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1963.
Graduated from the Ilam School of Fine Arts (University of Canterbury) 1985.
Master of Fine Arts at COFA (University of NSW).
Faculty Head of Visual Arts at the School of Creative Arts, Oxford Falls, Sydney. 1998 to 2004
Moved to Paris, France in 2005.
In 2009 established ParisCONCRET, a non-profit association and exhibition space for the dissemination of reductive abstract art.
Solo exhibitions at Factory 49, Sydney in 2007, 2008, 2010 and Factory 49, Paris in 2016 and 2021.
First solo exhibition was at the C.S.A. Gallery in Christchurch, NZ in 1985. Has since exhibited in Australia and New Zealand, and in more recent years, in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland, the U.K., the Ukraine and the USA.
Richard van der Aa is currently represented by the Galerie Vincenz Sala in Berlin.
