Drawing from the spiritual mystery of near-death experiences, The Dead Become Angels is part of a major series of works which explores concepts of immortality through the appropriation of literacy references to the afterlife embedded in popular culture. My method is centred around ‘manipulation of reality’ in my use of digitally-constructed neon text, superimposed onto photographic imagery of architectural structures and scaffolding, which direct the viewer’s consciousness towards the contemplation of otherworldly  subjects.
