Recognising the connection between culture, country and habitat, traditional custodians took care of the Gardens of Stone area on Wiradjuri country for millennia. Since the invaders/colonisers showed up, those connections have been brutally severed. I have created this image of an ancient landscape onto the close warp and weft of the fabric, then cut the work in pieces to reflect the damage of disconnection: stitching it back together by hand is a call to action, a call to reconnect and repair.
