paint, wood, rope, dimensions variable, 2025

This site-specific installation unfolds as an ongoing spatial dialogue, where past and present converge through material memory and reconfiguration. Reusing elements from its previous iteration - rope, and painted wooden square rods - the work operates as a mutable structure, evolving within the expanded gallery space. Like a set of building blocks, these materials are rearranged, recontextualized, and extended, emphasizing process over permanence.
At the core of tangled.ed is an engagement with transformation, the act of construction, deconstruction, and reassembly as a continuous cycle. The work is not a fixed outcome but an accumulation of gestures, decisions, and shifts in response to the site. Traces of past arrangements remain embedded in the materials, carrying forward a history of movement and adaptation. Tension, balance, and suspension become tools of spatial negotiation, activating the space through an evolving interplay of structure and openness.
By privileging process over resolution, the installation resists stasis, existing instead as a shifting system, one that invites the viewer to witness not just the final form, but the conditions of its becoming.
