This work is made in response to the new ethical guidelines of the new Visual Arts Code of Conduct published by NAVA. In the face of Climate Crisis and with an increasing risk of artists work places being impacted by fire, flood and weather events individual artists, as well as organisations, have an ethical responsibility to store there work in conditions that minimise risks and come as close to archival conditions as possible and preferably insured. This is in case the work may have cultural value in the future. The artist’s responsibility is to culture, future and the community.
This work brings together drawings and prints from the 1990s and materials salvaged from a closed down archival art framers from the same era with a box that once housed a print catalogue.
