‘This goes with that’ continues John Mangila’s exploration of the creative process. In this body of work there is a focus on the line and space between art and design. During the exhibition, he will create a site specific installation using objects from his studio and other found material as a response to the works on show and the gallery space itself.

John Mangila is a recent graduate of The National Art School, majoring in Painting. His practice is centred around the creative act itself and finding poetry in the materials he engages with in the studio. He utilises contemporary abstraction to explore beauty as an experience, encourage improvisation, celebrate chance and present an alternate way of seeing.
‘This goes with that’ continues John’s exploration of the creative process. In this body of work there is a focus on the line and space between art and design. John is most interested in the intersection between the two and ponder the consequences of categorisation. During the exhibition, his process will also be on display. He will create a site specific installation using objects from his studio and other found material as a response to the works on show and the gallery space itself.
