"Immersions" is a creative plunge into diverse landscapes & conditions of geography,light,time,temperature,isolation and response with inks, transparent film, paper/textile collage & digital prints. The centrepiece is a series of 6 panels called "Bodies of Water" made at Big-Ci Winter 2021.
Immersions:
2013-2018 Sydney was a period of art-education immersion at NAS & UNSWAD, fulfilling an old dream of a creative life.
2018-2023 was a time of discovery in home studios in Darlinghurst & Lismore, interspersed with solo residencies in West Coast Eire, Iceland, Big-Ci
(Bilpin International Ground for Creative initiatives, Blue Mountains), Fowlers Gap UNSW Research Station,via Broken Hill & travel to Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre SA), the Kimberley, WA, Kangaroo Island & the Fleurier Peninsula SA. Digital Photography has been my sketchbook,diary & archive.
Sydney offered paper making with Primrose Paper Arts, Cremorne & collage at the Workers Educational Association and an invitation to join BAG (Book Arts Group, Inner West). Further afield, Canberra, Bathurst and Fitzroy Falls, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, (Qld) all offered creative opportunities & shared adventures with old pals.
This show is a celebration of my immersions in all these places and the gift of friendships. Warmest acknowledgment and appreciation to all those who have been my accomplices. This show is for you.
