Forget me not

Kirsten Drewes

Backroom  | Opens on Nov 2 until Nov 24 | Fri, Sat & Sun

This body of works reflects on personal conflicting feelings of aging as the loss of youth but simultaneously as the strength of gaining experience and personal memories.
These times of uncertainty let us lose sense of time and place. It made me think about my life, about the many lives I lived. This body of works reflects on personal conflicting feelings of aging as the loss of youth but simultaneously as the strength of gaining experience and personal memories. These contradictory feelings are materialised on the one hand through paintings as snippets of memories from the past. On the other hand they are contradicted by soft sculptures which, with their sexual but simultaneously deformed bodily forms, reference aged but still sexual bodies.
