 Salvaged litter plastic bag corners, human hair. H250 x 50 x 40cm. 



From my Lost and Found Series. With the introduction of convenient, ‘tear here’ packaging to take anywhere, these easily ended up as litter either inadvertently or deliberately discarded. Being plastic these don't break down; lightweight, pieces are blown into drains and creeks and on to damage oceans all over the world.

Artist profile

I am a sculptor and painter but my concerns about the damage from consumerism often result in large installations of discarded plastics. I hold a PhD from Sydney College of the Arts: ‘On the Process of Creativity: The use of unconscious thought, and rubbish, in contemporary visual art practice’.
