PINK
Pink is a site of tension, a colour burdened by gendered assumptions yet charged with radical potential. In this site-specific installation, pink is no longer soft or passive; it is assertive, disruptive, and spatially dominant. Stacked, leaned, tangled, and sprawling, its presence resists containment, challenging the politics of space and occupation.
Created within a framework of feminist spatial inquiry, PINK engages with the architecture of the gallery, its histories, constraints, and hierarchies. It pushes against rigid structures, negotiating the boundaries between support and precarity. Black ropes, knotted and suspended, introduce entanglement and resistance, underscoring the tensions between order and disorder, control and autonomy.
As part of a women artists only exhibition, PINK exists as an unapologetic occupation of space, a physical and conceptual assertion of agency. It refuses to be decorative, sentimental, or diminished. Instead, it operates as a force of presence and disruption, reimagining colour as a tool of feminist resistance.
