Recycled cardboard, black acrylic paint, dimensions variable, 2024

My work consists of 5 wall sculptures made out of recycled cardboard and painted black in acrylic. The idea comes from vector icons found in internet search. Thousands of vector chair icons found and I thought of chair as part of life be it functional or symbol or spiritual. It has become icons for many designers, artists, photographers, poets, writers and everyday people who occupy it.

These five pieces of wall sculptures depict chair icons as in vector icons but also as iconic piece of furniture. I designed the centre piece as it symbolises respect for elders in Asian culture and the other four pieces are from familiar designs which have many symbols, hope, loss, emptiness, nostalgia, restful, support, security to name a few.
