I fail to understand why governments and people in power are afraid of images and text. I think of all the artists and writers who are incarcerated at the moment in so many parts of the world for being true to their art and ideals. This very small scale work is to emphasise their loneliness. 

Artist profile

Usually I am not engaged directly with the political, however this is an opportunity to highlight the incarceration of fellow creatives. I like to work more abstractly to engage the viewer with metaphor, the restraint of the image and the seduction of the materials in order to make an audience aware of place, loss and the environment.
