Industrial Blocks for Sidney Webb 2019-20 are a small series of multi layered print based objects created after a walk through Wallerawang Power Station. Initiated after researching my Uncle Sidney and his life and work at the coal powered station there after WW2 where the family believes he may have developed Asbestosis. The blocks are layered with images of Uncle Sid who was in the merchant Navy during WW@2. The blocks also include his death certificate and abstract industrial forms.

Artist profile

For me printmaking is a process of storytelling through research often incorporating history, place, and memory. My studio practice is a pathway of making dictated by the materials chosen through story often deciding the surface to receive the print and print process itself.

My art practice is manifold and currently shifting toward the landscape as a narrative. Incorporating analogue photography, I often draw, paint into the layers of my print process often using industrial processes to cut up and complete the work.
