Naughty Miners is a collaborative effort of disciplines between artist and entomologist, fuelled by the shared passion of addressing the challenges of the Capitalocene; through a fusion of painting, photography and installation, this project unveils the mesmerizing realm of insects. Alexander Bebbington's commitment to reshaping perceptions through photography and painting of the natural world intersects with Sydney entomologist Matthew Huan's meticulously curated collections, offering a profound insight into insect life. Each specimen, handpicked by both parties, encapsulates a tale of adaptation and interconnectedness, and echoes a narrative of urgency for preservation amidst our rapidly changing landscape.
