For the last five years I have followed a process, a self-imposed rules-based art practice governing, Shape, Colour, Materials and Time/Place. All my objects pass through this rigorous list of requirements and restrictions, in the pursuance of a charged, beautiful form. The works reference the altered landscapes of human intervention.

Artist profile

My work references the indelible marks left by humankind on the geological face of our planet. The Anthropocene. These works are focused on the Australian landscape, and the impact the colonial settlers have had on it the last 250 years, developing contemporary concerns of sovereignty, property rights and the contentious ownership of the land that was stolen by the British crown in 1770 from the indigenous custodians. I question how simple straight lines and fixed shapes can impose restrictions, divides and even trespass onto undulating topographies, stratified resources, or mobile populations via ever changing laws and agreements.
