Molly Wagner

The Shape of a Walk grew from my regular walks from home, along the streets of Erskineville to, into, and around Sydney Park and back again. I’ve been walking and running this route for many years. As I my interests in Walking Art developed, I began tracing my route onto maps. The Shape in these drawings comes from these tracings, photocopies, and enlargements of the photocopies. The emphasis of this work is the Shape not cartographic processes. I enjoy the combination of the rectangular shape of the streets with the organic shape of the paths in Sydney Park.
