Screen prints on marine ply, 44 x 34cm, 2024. 4 panels each framed

My work is screen printing on marine ply panels. It is based on architectural forms of houses in my area which are being demolished and replaced. I depict suburban landscapes in an abstract way while investigating the impacts of ongoing urban development. Themes of memory, loss, disruption and displacement are explored.

Artist profile

My practice spans printmaking, painting, mixed media and textiles. My recent printmaking work depicts suburban landscapes in an abstract way while investigating the impacts of ongoing urban development. Themes of memory, loss, disruption and displacement are explored. I use a variety of materials and processes linked by my interest in the interplay between colour, line, shape and pattern. The layering of shapes, lines and colour reflects the continual changes to our urban environments. As homes are demolished and rebuilt the trace of previous inhabitants disappears.
