I investigate without sentimentality the making of poetic and metaphoric connections in order to express deeply felt feelings of loss and displacement - loss in that I no longer have my land available to me, personal losses, loss of environment and place; this is defined as Solastagia. The resulting metaphors are often carried within the materials forming a synthesis of form and expression.
My work investigates contemporary approaches to abstraction, focusing on essential and reductive form.
