Wendy Cohen is a Sydney-based artist who has attained BFA and MFA degrees from The National Art School in Sydney. She creates virtuosic mixed media paintings that communicate the harmony and beauty of the world. Her practice focuses on the relationship between shapes, lines, colours, and forms with the relationship of these elements in urban and natural environments. Everything, in reality, is a conglomeration of shapes and by integrating shapes into a cohesive body of colours and forms in conjunction with collage elements, Wendy aims to convey her own poetry and harmonious rhythm to her paintings, developing playful imagery with an emotive and inventive sensibility. Observation, intuition, and imagination are key to her process as she responds to the interconnectedness of the world, but she welcomes the viewer to participate in the wonderment of her paintings translated onto the canvas with the rhythm of a musical genre
